Description:
Did you know that Frankfurt (Oder) has a beautiful theater in the center of the city? Just a few steps from the Lenné Passagen you can find the modern building of the "Kleist Forum" well hidden behind some trees. This theater and its' related buildings offer a wide span of cultural events: plays, musical events, dance and concerts from all over Germany and even home productions.

In the Kleistforum is a bar called "DarstellBar" which means "representable". After an event you can wander with the swarm to this place, have a drink and chat about the play with the people surrounding you. I can really recommend it, since sometimes you even meet the actors or directors, who are mostly open to a good talk about their oeuvre. Now we will come to the really interesting part: the price! Yes, as a student you can receive a discount on selected plays! For further information just ask the people at the ticket counter, or click the link above, it will lead you to the company's website.

And here is an insider's tip: last minute tickets at the counter only cost you 5€, as long as there are vacant seats left! (for selected plays).

Description:
Do you need relax after long day of lectures or maybe even between the seminars? Right next to the main campus you can find an amazing place, where you can take a walk into the great and unique nature, get rid of city traffic and relax
Island Ziegenwerder is right next to the campus, behind the GD-Building (Gräfin Dönhoff Gebäude). In order to get there you have to only walk over the bridge. The first thing you see is the Oder river and very beautiful nature on the Polish side, if you just have a few minutes left from your break you can just sit on the riverside and enjoy the view. If you have a few more minutes you can take a walk and get satisfied from an astounding nature of the island.

What can you find there rather than the nature?
If you take a look on the pictures, you can see strange but interesting playground on the island. It could be meant for children, but not only. Anybody can try! A few footsteps away from the playground you will see very creative and beautiful "creature", with many plants on it and very interesting watering system. The combination of the stone walls, wild nature and different types of plants makes the place satisfying and very unique. The twittering of birds is another pleasurable thing you can experience there.

On the Ziegenwerder you have possibility to have fun with your friends on the weekends. There is very beautiful place for bonfires and grilling. If you do not want to disturb your neighbors, there is enough place for huge group of people.

Many students commuting from Berlin have no idea about the island and its beauty.
